Hollyoaks confirms Rex Gallagher’s shocking claim in early streaming release

Hollyoaks has confirmed Rex Gallagher’s shocking claim in today’s (22 June) episode. Drama has been developed between Rex and his husband Ste Hay following the revelation that Rex had been secretly experimenting with wearing women’s clothing.

While Ste was initially surprised by this, he eventually came round to accepting his husband’s crossdressing and decided to support him in his journey. However, he still seemingly has some reservations about it, especially now that Rex is openly experimenting – and has been sharing his feelings with others.

In today’s episode, Ste expressed his concern to Tony that Rex’s cross-dressing might be a result of Ste’s affair with James, which led to an angry confrontation from Ro, who criticised him for his attitude. However, Rex was soon involved in an accident while walking to the garage.

After getting caught in a hot pursuit between a suspect and Detective Donny in a police car, Rex was knocked over, receiving some minor cuts in the process.

While he dressed his wounds with a first aid kit in the garage’s office, Ro told him that he heard Ste “slagging off” Rex to his dad, saying he “doesn’t like how you dress” and whether or not their marriage was a “mistake”.

However, while seemingly blindsided by his husband’s feelings, Rex dismissed Ro and asked the teenager to stop interfering, which led to Ro telling Rex that he misses their chats, adding: “I miss us. Not like that.”

When Rex returned home, Ste noticed his cuts and immediately asked what happened, to which he responded he was in the way of “some weird guy” and that it was just an accident.

As Ste began to show extreme concern, however, Rex elaborated on the accident, further claiming that he was attacked because of his clothes, leading to Ste giving him a hug and telling him he loves him.

“I’m on your side in all of this, you do know that don’t you?” he said. But how long will it be before the truth is eventually revealed?
