Kev’s return sparks chaos in Emmerdale and someone wants him gone forever

The most coveted manbun in soap history is back in town – Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) has returned to Emmerdale.

He’s back complete with his new cake business and the desire to ruffle a few more feathers, having arrived back due to his son Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) being kidnapped because of him.

Kev initially refused to do anything – the kidnapper demanded a ransom of a diamond that Kev had in his possession and Kev was not keen to part with it, despite the kidnapper threatening Lewis with a good flaying.

Ross Barton (Michael Parr) forced Kev to save the poor lad.

So most people are not best pleased to see him, but there is at least one member of the I Heart Kev club – Claudette (Flo Wilson). She’s thrilled he’s back and offers him a place to stay, where he reveals to her and Charles (Kevin Mathurin) for the first time that Lewis is his son.

As the dust settles on that bombshell, Kev drops another on Claudette – that he won’t be hanging around long because Lewis wants nothing to do with him. Claudette is gutted but perhaps not surprised that Lewis holds a grudge about the whole threat of torture thing.

Claudette is spurred into action and goes about convincing Kev that he needs to fight for his family and to stay in the village.

While Robert (Ryan Hawley) is one of those who isn’t best pleased to have him back, he is at least glad that now Kev can get their divorce proceedings started. Kev promises to, but there could be further drama down the line if Robert chooses to believe him at his word.

All in all though, a bit of a mild return for the man who caused such a kerfuffle.

Well no, there’s an enemy waiting in the wings who Kev will never see coming.

Kev does something that gets the back up of a local that will see them vow to rid Emmerdale of him and his updo for good. He fills up his bucket to clean his trailer from the café toilets.

It’s an unspeakable crime. Might as well have dropped trou and pooped directly on Nicola King’s (Nichola Wheeler) doormat as far as she is concerned – his blatant thievery of her water supply sees her promise to ensure he is gone from the village for good. How will Kev handle this new enemy?
