Death of Hollyoaks legend ‘confirmed’ in unexpected murder storyline

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (July 8) episodes that are now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) has dropped a bombshell so shocking that Leah Barnes’ (Charlotte Alex Riley) response to watching his confession was to allow her bowl of popcorn to fall to the floor.
Leah, as viewers know, has caused absolute mayhem since returning to the eponymous village, infuriating a number of her friends while trying to use them and their real-life stories for social media content.
With work completed on her houseboat (formerly The Love Boat) this week, she and fiancé Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana) welcomed Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith), Caleb Keane (Lewis Walton), Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) and Prince to a dinner party to mark them moving in.
Leah being Leah, however, had ulterior motives.
The character offered her attendees quite a proposition – if they confess to a secret they’ve been holding onto, they can each walk away with £100,000.
Frankie was sceptical while Caleb was less so, wanting to know more. As did Prince.
When quizzed about her motives for wanting them to open up, Leah discussed her experience in America, revealing that her ‘fresh start’ didn’t live up to expectations at first – that is, until a university lecturer, Professor Tate, recognised her potential.
The pair are now collaborating on research, exploring whether a digital confession booth app could have genuine benefits by allowing users to anonymously unburden themselves of their secrets.
Leah assured everyone that their secret confessions would be encrypted and that nobody would have access to them. The mission was simply to see if the participants felt lighter after revealing what’s been troubling them.

Eventually, they all agreed to take part.
Little did they know, however, that Leah did have access. In subsequent scenes, the social media influencer grabbed a bowl of popcorn and pressed play on each of their confessions.
Prince’s secret was perhaps the biggest of all. After confessing that he’s got feelings for Leah – despite being in a relationship with Vicky – he revealed that he’s struggled to move on after the death of his twin brother Hunter (Theo Graham), who died in 2024 after taking drugs on a night out.

Prince has long held Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), who supplied the dodgy batch of drugs that led to his brother’s death, but he and mum Goldie (Chelsee Healey) eventually relented on their revenge mission when Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) rekindled her romance with him.
However, it turns out that Prince has not forgiven Warren. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. He intends to make him pay, admitting that he’s planning the ‘perfect murder’ where Warren is concerned.
Warren has faced many a foe in his time and lived to tell the tale. But will Prince be the one to end him for good? Or will Warren, much like he’s done so many times before, get the upper hand?
