Hollyoaks airs shocking Cindy Cunningham scenes next week as she becomes an unexpected suspect in Rex Gallagher’s murder case.
Cindy is horrified as the police drag her away for questioning – in full view of Darren Osborne and Beth Keane.

Mystery still surrounds Rex’s death after an unknown individual gunned him down at the local garage earlier this month.
Various suspects have already come to light in the case – including Rex’s husband Ste Hay and returning character James Nightingale.
Next week, Cindy’s focus seems to be elsewhere as she continues her bitter feud with Beth.
Cindy confronts Beth outside The Dog, laying her cards on the table as they remain at odds over the truth about how Maddox came into the world.
Just then, the row is interrupted as Dodger turns up with his police colleagues…

“Dodger arrests Cindy on suspicion of conspiracy to murder Rex,” our source reveals. “Beth and Darren can’t believe their eyes as she’s hauled off to face tough questions down at the police station.
“Cindy immediately proclaims that she’s been set up by someone – but can she prove it?”
Hollyoaks has been teasing Cindy’s potential involvement in Rex’s demise for a few episodes now. She reacted coldly to the news of his death, pointing out that he was no saint after his connections to criminal activity over the years.
Cindy also had a personal motive for wanting to cause misery for Ste, who was responsible for the accidental death of her niece Ella in 2024. Targeting Rex would be a devastating way of hurting Ste, but would Cindy really go that far?

In the police interrogation room later on, Cindy continues to tell Dodger that she’s been set up. The fair-minded detective is sure to consider all possibilities, but will Cindy be charged or freed?
“With so much other drama in her life, Cindy will definitely want this to be resolved quickly,” adds our insider. “The police will need firm evidence to justify charging her, so it all depends on the exact reason that suspicion has fallen in her direction.”
