Hollyoaks’ Jonah Keane throws a party to celebrate his late-wife Debbie’s birthday this week – but as the festivities get underway, it turns out he isn’t being entirely honest with his loved ones.
As the day of his late mum’s birthday dawns, Caleb is desperate to find a way to be closer to her. Knowing how his mum always dreamed of going travelling, Caleb throws caution to the wind and asks his girlfriend Frankie to see the world with him! However, his dad is horrified at the notion of his son going away…

“Like any parent, Jonah struggles with the idea of his beloved boy flying the nest,” reveals our Hollyoaks insider. “He’s determined to find a way to keep Caleb in the village, so he decides to drop a bombshell on him – and reveals a huge family secret that he’s been hiding for years!”
As Caleb reels from what he’s found out, Jonah forges ahead with his plans for a family barbecue to honour Debbie, despite his son’s worries that the timing is off.
And it seems Caleb’s not the only one with reservations, as Beth’s anxiety puts her on edge, leading her husband to suggest she start taking her medication again.
Family and friends descend on the Keane house as Jonah fires up the barbecue, but it soon becomes clear that the gathering isn’t producing the party vibe Jonah was hoping for. So, hoping to inject a little fun into proceedings, Jonah comes up with a sneaky plan…
“Viewers will just have to wait and see exactly what Jonah has in mind,” teases our source. “Our pictures show him bringing out a tiramisu, but it’s going to take more than that to liven up this lot. Does Jonah have a much more elaborate scheme up his sleeve?”

Whatever it is that Jonah does certainly seems to do the trick, as his guests are soon in the swing of things and having the time of their lives!
Everyone apart from Beth that is, who remains in panic mode as she reveals to her husband that she can’t find her anxiety meds.
Has Beth merely misplaced her pills, or might someone have taken them? And will Caleb keep Jonah’s family secret to himself, or be tempted to reveal all to Beth and Maddox?
