Emmerdale reveals mystery threat to Caleb and Ruby ahead of new criminal plan
Who could trouble the couple?
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has revealed that Caleb and Ruby Miligan will face a mystery threat as they prepare to launch their new criminal plan, with the couple being tested after they apply pressure to one figure.
The Miligans will soon be up to no good, with the pair attempting to con Jimmy King out of some money as they drive down the price of his haulage firm. This will take place over the course of the coming week, with Kev Barton also being roped in.

While Caleb and Ruby seem to be on safe ground following some relationship troubles, Will Ash teased that an undisclosed figure could come between the couple as they seek to make a quick buck.
“They can trust each other – it’s other people they can’t trust,” said the actor, who plays Caleb. “Caleb’s had affairs, but since that came out, their relationship has been solid. Caleb appreciates Ruby much more than he did.”
Ash explained that Caleb had recognised how much Ruby had “sacrificed” during their relationship, and also how he had taken her “for granted”. Though he said that they have a mutual sense of trust, he teased that “somebody else” could cause trouble for them.
It remains to be seen which character will pose a problem for Caleb and Ruby, but we already know that Kev is involved in their scheme. As he attempts to back out, he’s threatened with damning evidence about his attack on Billy Fletcher.
“Ruby thinks she and Caleb can outmanoeuvre Kev, but I don’t think they know how to handle him,” says Ash, who has also appeared in Waterloo Road. “He’s such a loose cannon – Kev is a weapon you just can’t combat.”

The actor, who debuted on the ITV soap in December 2022, also spoke about his affection for the character of Caleb, and noted that he very much enjoyed exploring the figure’s darker side.
“It’s always fun to play a complex, darker edge,” said Ash. “If it gets comfortable, and everything’s plain sailing, it’s not quite as fun to do. Caleb can’t help but be drawn to the dark stuff – he’s always looking for an angle.”
