Coronation Street reveals Ronnie’s risky new mission in early release episode

Fiona is calling in a big debt.

Coronation Street spoilers follow for Thursday’s episode (20 August), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.

Coronation Street‘s Ronnie Bailey is given a risky new mission in tonight’s new episode, as he gets in deeper with the very dodgy Fiona Morley. Wednesday’s episode saw Idris Nazir arrange a poker game between Fiona and Ollie Driscoll, in a bid to increase his bank balance to buy Alya’s half of Speed Daal.

Ollie ended up coming out on top of the game, leaving Idris’ money secure and Fiona massively out of pocket. But it wasn’t all good news for Idris as Brody Michaelis let slip to Leanne that her boyfriend had used the money she gave him in the game.

In the new scenes, Leanne is still mad at Idris, refusing to let him into Speed Daal. In Roy’s, Idris tries to explain himself to Leanne, promising he won’t lie to her again.

Leanne then tells him to phone Alya and tell her she’ll get the money for her share of the business. When the pair meet up with Alya and Adam, Leanne reveals that she wants it written into the contract that she will be the senior partner and Idris would have 49 percent of the business.

Later Fiona walks into Speed Daal looking for Idris and is shocked to see that Ollie is the restaurant’s chef.

After celebrating Sam’s exam results, Leanne and Idris then have a heart-to-heart where he reaffirms he’s all in with both their professional and romantic relationship.

On the street Fiona is waiting in the car as Ronnie walks home alone. When he sees her, Fiona says Ronnie owes her for a lost gun.

Fiona then says she is calling in the debt, explaining that Idris conned her in a poker game and she wants her money back.

As the episode ends, Leanne and Idris are seen looking loved-up as an anxious Ronnie looks on.

Vinta Morgan, who plays Ronnie, previously gave Digital Spy a tease of what’s to come between his character and Fiona.

“Fiona makes something happen on the Street which gets Idris and Ronnie to lock heads together,” Morgan revealed. “In true Corrie fashion, you can expect some explosive behaviour.”
