Horror for Rex in Hollyoaks as he is knocked down – and a twist follows

Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) is injured in upcoming Hollyoaks scenes when he’s knocked down outside the garage – but what follows isn’t at all what you might expect.
The mechanic, as viewers know, walked down in the aisle earlier this year to marry Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), who had finally accepted the fact that he’s been experimenting with women’s clothing.
Ste had previously struggled to get his head around Rex’s experimentation and even got himself arrested when he caused a scene at The Loft after Rex showed up in a woman’s blouse.
His lawyer was none other than James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and it didn’t take long for passion to ensue, with Ste cheating on fiancé Rex with his ex.
Rex found out about Ste’s infidelity and initially kept shtum, fearing that Ste would choose to be with James. However, when the truth exploded, Ste made his choice and ultimately married Rex in The Dog.
But the couple’s happiness is short-lived and more conflict arises next week when Rex wears feminine clothes to the garage, which leaves Ste concerned.
Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) encourages her brother to be supportive towards his husband but Ste has some fears of his own, confiding in Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), wondering if Rex is doing this as revenge for his affair with James.
Ro Hutchinson (Leo Cole) overhears and confronts Ste, later relaying what he heard to Rex at the garage.

But a serious situation soon unfolds, with Rex knocked over outside the garage while Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) is hot on a suspect’s tail.
Later, Ste sees that his husband has cuts on his face and he’s horrified. Rex tells him it was just an accident but it soon becomes clear that he enjoys Ste’s concerns – and thus exaggerates what happened.
In the wake of the alleged attack, Ste becomes super protective towards Rex. But just what is going on? And will Ste find out the truth?
