Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace shares exciting Doctor Who news in career update
"Couldn't be more exciting."
Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace has shared some exciting career news, following her departure from the soap. The actor played Sally St Claire for nine years before leaving in September 2024 – though she returned briefly this February as part of John Paul McQueen’s exit storyline.
Since then, Wallace has been relatively quiet about her career, with fans wondering when she will next appear on screen. Taking to Instagram, the star explained what she’s been up to recently and shared a very special Doctor Who project that she lent her voice to.
“Hi there, Instagram folks. Just thought I’d come on and talk to you about what I’m up to at the moment, because I don’t do much celebrity appearances or red carpets or things like that, but I have been busy,” she said in her video. “I haven’t been just sat around in the house. Although I’ve been doing a lot of that as well.”
“18 months ago I recorded a Big Finish audio Doctor Who production called Fixers, and in that I played a role in a story called ‘Much Ado About Racing’. You can buy that in a couple of weeks,” she said.
“Fixers, the seventh Doctor adventures. And yes, I did work with Sylvester McCoy. Couldn’t be more exciting. Couldn’t be more excited. And it looks lovely. And it’s a great story.

“I play a space racing driver – you can’t get cooler than that,” she added. “And for someone like me who is deeply uncool, that was quite a privilege.”
The actor went on to share a second audio drama she has been working on called The Countess, in which she plays the titular role. Wallace teased the true crime story, saying she isn’t going to tell fans “anything” about it as they will need to download it and find out.
