This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Thursday, June 25) Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.

Coronation Street fans finally found out who killed Theo Silverton earlier this week after months of speculation, and now there is another cobbles resident in on the secret.

During the tense dinner party episode on Monday, flashbacks revealed that Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) had been the one to send Theo falling to his death, and she’d called Gary Windass (Mikey North) in the immediate aftermath.

Sarah and Gary’s suspicious behaviour over the past few weeks suddenly made sense, as Gary helped Sarah to cover up her involvement.

Unfortunately for Gary, DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has been breathing down his neck, certain that he is the one behind the murder. In tonight’s episode, they got into a heated confrontation, which Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) attempted to defuse.

However, Gary’s slip of the tongue that the killer was closer to home than Kit knew planted a seed in Todd’s mind, and when he later returned to Sarah’s flat, he urged her to stop lying to him.

After some back and forth, Sarah finally came clean to Todd about what she’d done.

She explained how it had happened and why she’d done it, but nothing she said made Todd any less heartbroken.

When he left the flat, Sarah hit rock bottom and headed to the Rovers to get drunk, while Todd debated whether or not to tell the police.

Eventually, he came to a decision, and the pair shared a tough conversation in the Rovers’ Beer Garden.

Todd explained how he had wanted to prove to Theo that he could carry on without him, and that Sarah had stolen that chance by killing him.

However, he realised that he loved her too much to see her go to prison, so he decided to keep quiet.

Heartbreakingly, he called it quits on their friendship, making it clear that they were over.

Though Sarah was relieved to be off the hook – for now at least – it was clear she was still in a bad place.

However, things could be set to change for her, as tonight’s episode also saw her make a major discovery about her own attack that night.

You’ll have to watch to find out exactly what it was, but it could change everything…
