EastEnders finally confirms electric passion for Lauren and Mark
After months of simmering sexual tension, EastEnders’ Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) finally give in to what was absolutely inevitable next week.
The BBC soap has been heavily hinting at forthcoming passion for the pair after it was suggested that Lauren had been cheating on husband Peter Beale (Thomas Law) in the New Year’s Day flashforward episode.
The pair have recently grown close after embarking on a criminal arrangement where Mark supplies Lauren with stolen motors for her to resell at the car lot, which she co-owns with dad Max Branning (Jake Wood).
And next week, it’s when one of their dodgy deals goes wrong that ignites more than a car ignition between them.
In scenes to air from Monday, the pair come to blows when Lauren discovers that Mark hasn’t put the fake number plates on the car he’s illegally selling.
As he’s already left to deliver it, Lauren fears disaster, and sure enough, en route, the police spot Mark.
Panicked, he speeds off and calls Lauren for help, and they agree to meet at a lock-up.
After arriving there, in a tale as old as time, a blazing argument between them soon turns into passion.
While Lauren eventually pulls away, Mark is hooked and later asks her to meet him at the gym to ‘talk’.
Playing with fire, Lauren agrees, but fans will have to wait to see exactly what happens next.
Later in the week, the Beale family gather at Harry’s Barn for some drinks ahead of Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) hearing for his drink-driving charge.
She’s stunned when Ian picks up on something and corners her to ask what she’s hiding.
She does her best to convince him that she loves Peter – but does she really believe that herself?
Something tells us this is only the start of a very dangerous affair…
