Hollyoaks reveals danger for Caleb as Jonah carries out sinister plan

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on E4 and stream on Channel 4.
Hollyoaks‘ Caleb Keane found himself in major danger tonight after dad Jonah put his dark plan into action, spiking the guests at his BBQ function.
The soap has shown Jonah’s controlling behaviour, which this week has started to evolve into Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Also known as Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another (FDIA), it means a person is trying to elicit sympathy by making those around them seem unwell.

Tonight’s episode began with Jonah’s BBQ guests tucking into his tiramisu, which he had secretly spiked with Beth’s anti-anxiety medication in an attempt to inject some more energy into the event. His plan seemed to be working, with Myra McQueen especially feeling the buzz.
But he noticed that Caleb was still quite low energy. He tried to get the lad to have some more pudding as Caleb admitted he didn’t eat of his previous bowl.
“I only pretended to like tiramisu to please mum,” he explained.
When Caleb wasn’t looking, Jonah decided to dissolve one of the tablets inside a drink before handing it to him.
Jonah seemed very pleased with himself as Darren Osborne and Mercedes praised him for being the “hostess with the mostess”, and Caleb seemed more relaxed.
However, Beth stressed when couldn’t find her pills and he had to secretly put them back in the cupboard for her to find. However, Mercedes caught him in the act.

Unfortunately, she didn’t realise what was truly going on. When she handed them back to Beth, she said he was likely hiding them from her as he was worried she was becoming too reliant on them — something Mercedes herself recently went through.
As the episode reached its end, Beth asked everyone to raise a glass to Jonah when Myra complained her heart was beating too quickly, while Caleb passed out.
