There’s more trouble ahead for the Platt family in Coronation Street soon and, unsurprisingly, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) is to blame.

This evening’s episode of the ITV soap allowed us to finally discover who killed Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) – and it was Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).

The character endured a showdown with Theo about the violence he inflicted onto Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). Theo successfully pushed all of Sarah’s buttons, leading to her attacking the evil man with a metal pipe.

Theo fell over the scaffolding, resulting in his death.

‘She’d gone looking for Todd, she rang him, she could hear this phone on the scaffolding, so she went up and there was Theo’, actress Tina O’Brien said, discussing the scenes we saw last night.

‘She said some things that were pretty threatening so then he wouldn’t let her leave. The way he was talking, it sounded like he’d done something to Todd, as in he was dead, that’s how it felt to Sarah, that he’d done something awful to Todd.

‘Then he said, if you think what I did to Todd was bad, and I loved him, think what I can do to you! He was coming towards her, and I think in that moment, as far as she was concerned, it was do or die.’

Amid her desperation to keep her secret hidden, Sarah is also in search of answers regarding the night she was attacked. Next week in the ITV soap, she heads to see Jodie in an attempt to get some closure, but DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) arrives.

Lisa tells Sarah that she’d like to go over that night again, and Jodie invites them into the house. There, Sarah goes through the details of her attack, adamant that it took place at 9:10pm, and that she heard David the dog barking his head off.

In the week, Jodie fears that Sarah is a little too close to the truth and states that her timings don’t stack up, and that she was potentially with Gary Windass (Mikey North).

Sarah then hits back by quizzing Jodie about her trinket box. She’s thrown, but saved from answering anymore questions because David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) arrives, angrily stating that they’ve left the gate open and now, David the dog is missing.

But was this a deliberate distraction move from Jodie so her secrets could remain hidden?

If it is, it’s very possible Jodie will have to come up with another plan soon, as David tells Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) that Sarah seems to be acting weird around Jodie.

Who will get to the truth about her first?

‘It’s not just about her now, it’s about her family and her son, and there are times when she can’t cope with the pressure and you think she’s just going to hand herself in’, star Tina O’Brien added.

‘And then she thinks about her son growing up without a mum, if she’s convicted and can’t prove she acted in self defence. And because of those things, she’s so desperate to do whatever it takes to be part of her family’s life.’
