Coronation Street casts new character for dark Lucy and Tim story

Coronation Street star Lucinda Sinclair is reportedly returning to the cobbles after nine years away from the soap.
The actor previously appeared on the ITV soap in June 2017 as a key character in one of Corrie‘s darkest ever storylines.
Her unnamed character played a crucial role in thwarting villain Nathan Curtis’s attempt to sell Bethany Platt, one of his grooming-gang victims, at a service station before she could be taken abroad.

According to The Sun, Sinclair is returning to the soap later this month, and she will play a councilor named Beatrice in one episode as part of Lucy Parkinson’s story.
While little else is known about the character, a source reportedly told the publication that Sinclair’s role is a guest role.
Digital Spy has reached out to Coronation Street for comment.
Viewers know that Lucy arrived in Weatherfield earlier this month as the daughter of Tim Metcalfe’s cousin Richie, played by Nathan Sussex.
The troubled teen has been struggling since her father was accused of murdering his wife, Rachel. She was taken in by the Metcalfes after her father’s arrest.
Earlier this month, Anya Dewin, who plays Lucy, shared a post on social media, expressing her thoughts on joining the soap and calling it a “dream”.

Along with a snap of herself outside the Rovers Return pub, she posted an Instagram caption that read: “I still can’t quite believe I get to say this, but I’m so grateful to be joining the cast of Coronation Street!”
