Coronation Street confirms Dylan’s fate after he is attacked
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Tuesday, August 4) Coronation Street which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.
Coronation Street teen Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) ended up in hospital in tonight’s episode after being attacked by Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Dylan hit his head on the pavement after being shoved by Lauren, who ran off when she realised how hurt he was.
Fortunately, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) arrived not long later, and was able to get Dylan the help he needed.
The attack came after a tense confrontation between Dylan and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) in the café, which Nina also witnessed.
Brody and Lauren had spent the morning with Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), who was having difficulties with her speech.
Having learnt that Dylan had been to visit her the previous day, Lauren vented to Brody that she wished Dylan could be with Betsy during her speech therapy sessions, so he could see what he’d done to her.
Viewers will recall that Betsy suffered a stroke after she and Dylan engaged in consensual strangulation during sex. Though only light, the pressure Dylan applied to her neck caused damage to the blood vessels, which ultimately led to the stroke.
Following Lauren’s rant, Brody rounded on Dylan in the café, trying to rile him up for a fight. However, Dylan stormed out before the situation escalated.
Unfortunately for him, he was unable to avoid further confrontation with Lauren, who warned him to stay away from Betsy, slapping him in the face when he talked down to her in response.
The situation continued to escalate, only ending when Dylan hit the ground.
After Dylan woke up in hospital, it was confirmed that he had suffered a concussion, but would otherwise be fine.
When Lauren sheepishly paid him a visit, she begged him not to tell anyone what happened.
