Coronation Street reveals unexpected news about Audrey as fresh update is offered
Coronation Street has blessed us with a major update on Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls), eight months after she last appeared on the ITV soap.
Tonight’s Corrie episode saw the Platt family gather to film a birthday message for the matriarch, who has been staying with Gail Platt in France.
Audrey was last seen on the cobbles in November 2025, before heading off on her travels abroad.
It seems that she has been enjoying more than just the sights during her trip, as she apparently has a new boyfriend.
The surprise news was offered up by great-grandson Harry, who told Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) that the video for Audrey was so that she can ‘show her new boyfriend’.
This came as a shock to David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), while Bethany was keen to know if Audrey’s new man was ‘French and rich’.
It seems that Audrey has settled down in France and her new relationship suggests she may not be back as the Platt family’s lives descend into chaos once more.
It’s a big week for the family as Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) killer secret has finally caught up with her.
Viewers will know that Sarah killed Theo Silverton earlier this year. The pair had a vicious confrontation on the scaffolding outside his flat, which ended with Sarah hitting him with a metal bar and knocking him to the ground below.
She recently came clean about her actions to detective constable boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), and in tonight’s episode, he tried to extract information on the investigation from DC McLaughlin.
He got nothing from the interaction, but did raise McLaughlin’s suspicions.
Though Kit was sure that the evidence was pointing to Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Sarah was in the clear, as the Platts were filming their video for Audrey, the policed arrive to arrest Sarah.
Later this week, Sarah is charged with Theo’s murder, and Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) warns Kit that they think he is involved too, and if he wants to keep his job, he needs to stop protecting Sarah.
How will the Platts react to Sarah’s situation? Will this disaster be enough to bring Audrey back to Weatherfield? Would she have to leave her new man behind, or could he join her on the cobbles?
