EastEnders’ Eve to make emotional breakthrough with Ria in dramatic scenes
A birthday party goes wrong.
EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders’ Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin’s birthday plans for foster daughter Ria fall apart next week, when the girl’s mum fails to show – leaving Eve to pick up the pieces.
When Ria’s first birthday spent with them rolls around, new foster mums Suki and Eve decide to pull out all the stops and throw her a big party at Harry’s Barn. However, when Ria’s biological mum swerves the bash, the heartbroken girl takes her anger out on those around her…
BBC
“Ria is devastated that her mum has shunned her party,” reveals our EastEnders insider. “In fact, she’s so upset that when George kindly presents her with a birthday cake, she tips it all over the floor!
“The party guests can’t believe Ria’s outburst, and Eve doesn’t quite know how to handle the situation.”
Seeing Eve’s despair at the girl’s heightened emotional state, seasoned mum Nicola provides some words of encouragement, and Eve steps outside to comfort Ria and smooth things over with her.
Having shared a breakthrough, the duo share a tearful hug and Eve heads back inside to have a drink with Nicola.
The two women bond over their own complicated relationships with their parents – but when Nicola’s son Harry arrives in the office, Nicola coldly shuts down the conversation!

“Nicola and Eve haven’t always been the best of friends,” our source explains. “But over a stiff drink, they both open up about their fractured relationships with their own families.
“After the conversation, Nicola offers to throw Kojo a birthday party of his own; but it’s the same date as the anniversary of her dad’s death, sparking concern from her loved ones, who worry that she has too much on her plate…”
Eve has more trouble earlier in the week too, when she comes to blows with Suki after her wife cruelly quizzes struggling Jean about her unpaid rent.

While Suki is rightly concerned about the missing money, Eve is an honorary Slater so naturally doesn’t want to be too harsh on Jean.
What will the consequences be of Eve’s tumultuous week? And will her relationship with Ria improve from here on out?
