EastEnders’ Shona McGarty and Tony Discipline get matching tattoos on loved-up holiday
EastEnders actress, Shona McGarty, has struck up a romance with Tyler Moon star, Tony Discipline, who now works as a firefighter after leaving the soap
Shona McGarty and fellow EastEnders star, Tony Discipline, have finally confirmed their relationship after rumours of a romance started swirling.
The pair, who first met on the BBC soap, sent fans into a frenzy when they were reported to be dating earlier this month, with a source claiming the couple were “enjoying each other’s company”.
Shona, 34, who shot to fame as Whitney Dean on Albert Square, did not confirm she was dating the Tyler Moon star, 37, who now works as a firefighter after leaving EastEnders. However, in a slew of new snaps shared on Instagram, the spark between them looks very much ignited! After jetting off on a sun-soaked holiday together, the loved-up pair have even got matching tattoos.
“Little trip away with Mi Amor,” read Tony’s caption alongside a number of cute photos of the new couple. In the candid carousel on social media, the soap stars were seen holding hands while enjoying dinner before taking to the seas on a jet ski together.
The pair also took the opportunity to get matching tattoos, which appear to be of a toaster with a palm tree. Shona cried out in pain when getting inked, while firefighter Tony kept his cool.
Shona commented on Tony’s Instagram post, publicly declaring her love online for her man, gushing: “Tú Y Yo,” with a love heart emoji – which translates to You and Me in Spanish.
Their former EastEnders co-star Matt Lapinskas commented on the snaps, writing: “Love to you both bro.” Matt, who played Tony’s on-screen brother, Anthony Moon, once dated Shona. Meanwhile, Tony was dating co-star Jacqueline Jossa around the same time.
Claiming Tony and Shona are “enjoying each other’s company”, a source told The Sun: “They’ve been good friends for years. While there’s always been an attraction there, they were always in relationships. But after they both found themselves single, things began to heat up. They are taking things slowly and really enjoying each other’s company.”
They added: “Shona is very happy. He’s a lovely guy, and all their mutual friends think they are a fantastic match. He’s just her type. Tony is all-man. He’s a down-to-earth hunky fireman; can you blame her?”

She had a brief romance with her fellow EastEnders co-star Max Bowden in 2022 and before that, she was with electrician Ryan Harris, who she split with two years after getting engaged.
During her stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! the actress opened up about splitting from David. However, as the campmates chatted about weddings and proposals, the conversation got too much for Shona and she stepped away.
