Emmerdale’s Chris Coghill teases downfall twist for the Tates as Kev returns
Emmerdale actor Chris Coghill has teased all about his return to the ITV soap as Kev Townsend, with him admitting he wants the character to take down the Tate family
Kev Townsend makes his dramatic return to Emmerdale next week, amidst a kidnapping twist.
Chris Coghill reprises his role, as Kev is contacted by Liam Cavanagh and Ross Barton. As Kev finds out his son Lewis Barton has been taken hostage by a mystery new character named Kylie, we find out what Kev has been up to this time.
It all follows Kev stealing ‘Penny’ from Kylie. But who or what is ‘Penny’, and how does Kev know Kylie? Actor Chris has spilled all on the big scenes airing next week.
Not only that, but he talked about Kev heading back to the village after his time away. In an interview shared with the Mirror, Chris confessed he’s hoping down the line, his character will take down the Tate family. Here’s what he had to say…
Hi Chris, Kev’s back this week. How does he feel when he finds out Lewis has been kidnapped by Kylie?
When Liam tells him, his first response is leave me alone. But when he finds out that Lewis’ life is in danger, his paternal instincts kick in. He does care about Lewis.
Lewis has been taken by the mystery Kylie, who demands the return of ‘Penny’. What can you tell us about that?
So, Penny is a diamond that as far as Kev is concerned, he has every right to have. Kylie does not agree. So Kylie takes Lewis hostage, and she wants the diamond in return.
Kev soon embeds himself back into the village. How does Ross feel about this?
We saw a bit of Kev and Ross before. They’re both alphas, and they are both territorial over Lewis. There’s a lot of peacocking between them.
