Hollyoaks confirms who discovers Rex Gallagher’s shocking online secret

Hollyoaks‘ Rex Gallagher finds himself in hot water next week, when his latest secret threatens to be exposed. The mechanic’s attempts to gain Ste Hay’s acceptance backfire massively – but will he be able to cover his tracks?
Rex has been experimenting with his identity for months now, after struggling to process the death of his mum Grace Black. Encouraged by his grandad Froggy Black and friend Ro Hutchinson, Rex finally embraced his cross-dressing and came clean to husband Ste.

Unfortunately, Ste was horrified by Rex’s admission and though he tried to be supportive, his confusion was clear. Since then, Ste has struggled to keep his reservations to himself, leaving Rex feeling heartbroken and rejected.
This week, Rex suffered some injuries after being knocked over by a stranger in a police chase. When he returned home, Ste assumed the attack was due to him wearing women’s clothes.
Noticing Ste’s anger and concern, Rex played up the situation, claiming he was attacked by multiple people. He later began secretly sending himself vicious online messages regarding his clothing, with an appalled Ste showering him with support.
Next week, however, Rex’s lies come back to bite him when Ste remains distracted by the hateful messages and burns his food. Hearing the commotion, Imran Maalik and Leah Barnes check in and discover the online trolls.

Tech whizz Imran is quick to point out the similarities between the comments. He realises the trolls are all one person and shares his theory with Ste’s daughter Leah.
Meanwhile, Rex blissfully continues to express himself with his clothes, amid his husband’s love and support. But later Imran and Leah explain their theory and push Rex to post something in order to gain evidence.
Will he come clean before the truth is exposed?
