Hollyoaks reveals what happened to Cindy’s absent son Hilton

Hollyoaks has revealed why Cindy Cunningham has returned to the village without her son Hilton.
Cindy made a surprise comeback earlier this month, on a mission to cause chaos for the Keane family – but the whereabouts of her youngest son remained a mystery.

After Cindy revealed that she’d lost Hilton last week, Monday’s episode delved deeper into the sad situation.
Clearing up any confusion, it was revealed that Hilton is still alive – but in an upsetting turn of events, Cindy lost custody of him when she was struggling with her mental health. Cindy’s troubles unfolded after she’d left the village and gone to live in the US.
Hollyoaks‘ latest episode saw Nancy Osborne get suspicious about Cindy’s secrets – and she was irritated that her husband Darren clearly knew more than her.
When Nancy vowed to keep digging until she uncovered the truth, Cindy snapped and warned her to back off.
“I am here because I need to be, because my son was taken from me,” Cindy explained.

Shortly afterwards, she told Nancy and Beth: “Hilton was taken from me. When we were staying with Mandy, I had an episode. A depressive episode.
“I don’t remember much about it but I was gone for three days. And Hilton couldn’t get hold of me. My phone was off and the Child Protection Services got involved.
“And then Mandy told the CPS that this had happened before. I’m a good mum, but who have I got left to be a mum to? Holly, she’s off living her life, and Alfie, he wants nothing to do with me.
“My boy has been taken from me – all of my children are gone. I just want my baby back.”

Later, Nancy and Darren compared notes about the troubling circumstances but agreed that they still weren’t getting the full story.
The Osbornes remain unaware of the surrogacy deal that Cindy and Beth struck years ago, which turned sour after Maddox’s birth. Cindy is now fixated on the idea of playing a role in Maddox’s life, with the latest revelations now helping to explain her attitude.
“I don’t know what to do,” Darren told Nancy. “I mean, if we push too hard, she’ll bolt. So the question is, how do we find out what’s really going on?”
