Lauren makes things worse for devastated Betsy in Coronation Street as she ups the pressure over Dylan

Poor Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) is going through a lot in Coronation Street at the moment, as she attempts to adjust to her new way of life after suffering a stroke last week.
Betsy’s world was turned upside down the moment she collapsed at home. The stroke, brought on by consensual strangulation during sex, has left her with aphasia and dysarthria, which affects her ability to move and communicate.
Though doctor’s have assured her that a full recovery is possible given her age, it is already proving to be a tough road for the teen.
In tonight’s episode, it was clear that Betsy wasn’t satisfied with her progress in physiotherapy, as she struggled to straighten the fingers on her right hand.
Though the physiotherapist seemed happy with how her recovery was going, it left Betsy feeling down.
Things only got worse for her when best friend Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) arrived, and Betsy had to rely on her to help her to the bathroom.
As tearful Betsy expressed how humiliated she felt, Lauren tried to boost her spirits by pointing out that Betsy would have done the same if the roles were reversed.
Unfortunately, Lauren further upset Betsy when she asked why she hadn’t reported Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) to the police.
Lauren has made it very clear over the past few episodes exactly how she feels about Dylan, and her stance that he deserves to face justice for injuring Betsy during sex hasn’t changed.
However, Betsy didn’t want to get him into trouble, and when she realised that Lauren wouldn’t drop the conversation, she ordered her to leave.
‘You understand Betsy’s situation,’ actress Sydney Martin previously told Metro. ‘She’s obviously devastated with what’s happened to her.
‘Within the first 24-48 hours, there’s so much going on. Physio can start within those 24-48 hours, because of the right-side paralysis. So, she’s balancing all this, and then to have that on top of this tug of war, and everyone putting their two pence in…’
Will Betsy and Lauren be able to overcome this disagreement? Or could this be the end of their friendship?
