Screaming Debbie utterly destroyed in Coronation Street as she anticipates death in early ITVX release

This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Friday, June 19) Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.
Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has been putting her best foot forward and holding her head high since being rocked by an unexpected dementia diagnosis last year.
However, in tonight’s scenes, a series of events put things into perspective for Debbie, and she began to fear for her future as the severity of her condition dawned on her.
The episode began with Debbie suffering a nightmare about the recent events that rocked the Webster family, and the gun that is still missing – something that continued to haunt Debbie into her waking hours.
Debbie has long been at the helm of the Chariot Square Hotel, but her management abilities came into question amid a run in with Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford). It began when Debbie arrived to pick up some flowers she’d ordered, only to find that the roses she’d expected were actually lilies.

Their row was diffused by Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), who were next to face Debbie’s sharp tongue, as she warned them that they were stressing her out, urging them to find the gun before anyone got hurt.
However, the conversation didn’t go as smoothly as that, as Debbie found herself unable to remember the word ‘gun’.
Things only got worse at the hotel, where Debbie struggled to remember how to calculate percentages, before accidentally revealing the gender of the baby to the couple whose gender reveal party she was hosting.
That paled in comparison to what happened next, though, as Tracy came back for round two.

As she made it clear that she thought Debbie couldn’t handle running the hotel anymore, the gender reveal balloon popped, startling Debbie.
Confused, Debbie mistook Tracy for Fiona, and ended up screaming that she didn’t know where her gun was.
Of course, this caused quite a stir, and Debbie was left horrified by her outburst.
When Ronnie later found her at home, she confided in him that she was starting to wonder if Tracy was right that she couldn’t handle the hotel for much longer.

She tearfully revealed that she knew her condition was deteriorating, but was resolute that she didn’t want to stop working.
Ronnie made it clear he would support her in whatever she chose, and tried to alleviate her panic by pointing out that the end was a long way off.
Debbie heartbreakingly explained that she could feel it looming, and confessed that she would miss who she is now when her illness got worse.
Will Ronnie be able to support Debbie through her battle to the very end?
