Hollyoaks confirms major Gemma Johnson secret in dark new Jenson story

Hollyoaks has confirmed that Gemma Johnson is harbouring a major secret in the new storyline involving Jenson Cole. As she attempts to blackmail Warren Fox’s estranged half-brother, she has some secrets of her own.
In Monday’s (15 June) episode of the Channel 4 soap, Gemma discovered that Jenson was a wanted fugitive in Spain, and used this knowledge to her advantage as she sought a way out of her own criminal life.

She asked Jenson to deal with some of her past associates, though he initially refused. When she threatened to go to the police with information, Jenson reluctantly helped her out and dealt with trouble that came her way.
He had his own personal matters to deal with too, with Warren’s son Sebastian going through a health battle. Warren asked Jenson to be his bone marrow donor, and today’s instalment began with him visiting him in hospital.
Gemma soon arrived, and was surprised to see that Jenson hadn’t left the village. He thought that she was “bluffing” about having knowledge of his past, but Gemma ruthlessly took him down a peg as she listed his crimes.
It was revealed that Jenson had emptied a bank account belonging to a wealthy businessman, meaning he was being hunted by some “dangerous” people as well as the law.
Despite being backed into a corner, he knew that Gemma had some secrets of her own, and threatened to expose them if she ever ratted him out. Later on, he got a voice message from Gemma, where she dropped some bombshells.
She explained that she had never left the criminal underworld at all, and was still profiting from some shady business. She confirmed that she was laundering money through her salon – without her copper father Donny knowing a thing!
Furthermore, the men that Jenson had handled the previous day were in fact Gemma’s subordinates, with the altercation being a test of his capabilities. As she was impressed by his work, she offered him a role within her operation.
Wanting to do right by his family, Jenson declined the opportunity, but Gemma wasn’t in any mood to take no for an answer. She blackmailed Jenson once again, leaving him in a spot of bother.
