Exclusive: Hollyoaks confirms “explosive” scenes to come as Cindy and Beth reunite

Hollyoaks star Rebecca Ryan has teased drama to come for her character Beth Keane, as she prepares to reunite with her auntie Cindy Cunningham.

Having returned to the Hollyoaks village a few months ago, Beth has since reunited with her father Jack Osborne and brother Darren Osborne, and has had her fair share of huge rows with her family due to the car crash that left her stepson Caleb Keane paralysed.

However, it has now been confirmed that she’ll also come face-to-face with her aunt Cindy Cunningham, the sister of her biological mother Dawn Cunningham.

Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap, Rebecca said that although they have never met in the village, Beth and Cindy have had a relationship prior to their return to Hollyoaks which then soured, which will lead to fireworks.

“They’re aunt and niece but then it’s going to turn out that they were friends before Beth came to Hollyoaks,” teases Rebecca. “They’ve had their own path together and then they’ve not seen each other for a while. Things could get explosive there because they’re both not wallflowers. They’re both quite feisty – no one wants to back down!”

Beth is currently being blackmailed by a mystery manipulator over the secret that her son Maddox Keane is not her biological child – and Rebecca reckons that her character would do anything possible to keep this fact from coming to light.

“On Beth’s part it’s just sheer panic,” Rebecca says. “She’s going to go to quite extreme lengths to make sure that nothing is let out the bag. She’s going to put up a fight – which is not like Beth, is it?”
