Coronation Street icon spotted having a ball in Boston World Cup celebrations

Of all the people to bump into at a world cup party, the very last person you’d expect would be your favourite Coronation Street character.
Especially Adam Barlow, the cocky hotshot lawyer of the Cobbles.
The scheming solicitor seems far more at home sipping a cocktail in the Bistro or lunching with a client in Speed Daal than he would be in the crowd screaming his head off for his team.

So imagine the shock of one Coronation Street, who spotted Sam Robertson – the actor who portrays the Weatherfield legend – belting out footie chants with a rowdy Boston crowd watching the World Cup.
The soap star appeared to be having the time of his life while celebrating the game, waving his arms in the air in the streets while wearing a cream and green vest.
Sam joined in with the chanting of the crowd, as some supporters climbed up onto the tables of a nearby pub and gotinto the sporting spirit.
A video of the actor captured by Kathryn Leann, founder and CEO of Interpreting Sports and owner ofBoston Sports Tours, has been doing the rounds on social media, and fans watching it couldn’t help but notice the familiar face.
Taking to Reddit , one surprised user said: ‘Is that an absolutely clattered Adam Barlow? [Sam Robertson]’
A second user agreed, noticed how the person behind the camera was clearly not an avid Corrie watcher: ‘The person filming clearly had no idea who it was!’
A third user was envious of the soap star’s celebration: ‘Tbh this makes me want to drink with them. Looks like an awesome time.’
The Scottish actor has been staying true to his roots by supporting Scotland in the World Cup between his work on Corrie.
The 40-year-old from Dundee is a veteran member of the show’s cast, having joined the soap as Adam Barlow in 2004, leaving the soap in 2007, but reprised his role as solicitor Adam in 2016.
Recently, the shrewd solicitor has had his hands full on the Cobbles, as his law firm Barlow Legal Services suffered a massive data leak which triggered a fierce rivalry with Rich Pemberton, the former employer of Adam’s colleague and girlfriend Alya Nazir (Sair Khan).
Currently, the ruthless brief is heavily involved in the trial of paedophile Megan Walsh, having taken the controversial decision to represent the predator. Viewers will see him brutally cross-examining witnesses, including the victim’s father Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), in a desperate attempt to win at any cost.
Let’s hope he doesn’t resort to foul play!
