Dr Todd’s death ‘confirmed’ in Emmerdale – as ‘killer’ makes their motive clear
Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) cannot contain his fury in Emmerdale soon, and heads to confront Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) after the discovery that she raped Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
Charity told Mack about the secrets she’s been keeping during Thursday’s edition of the ITV soap. First, she told him about sleeping with Ross Barton (Michael Parr), and then the situation with baby Leyla.
Mack was absolutely reeling, and couldn’t believe it when Charity said that she had more to tell him. She told her partner about Doctor Todd sexually assaulting her, and how the surgeon was blackmailing her over Leyla.
Even though Mack was angry at Charity for all of the secrets and lies surrounding the surrogacy, he knew that she was in desperate need of support. He wanted to help Charity, and said that she should tell the police about Caitlin blackmailing her, aware it could increase her chance of a conviction.
In future episodes, Mack is understandably struggling with everything that Charity has told him. Overwhelmed by the secrecy, he hits self-destruct and tries to pick a fight with Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill).
Kev appears to be a changed man and doesn’t retaliate, but prompts Mack to tell him what’s up.
Clearly at the end of his tether, Mack blurts out that Charity cheated on him. Kev encourages him to get revenge, but in a ‘clever way’.
Mack heads to Sheffield, where Doctor Todd now works.
In a hospital, Mack confronts Caitlin, who denies that she raped Charity.
The evil woman attempts to convince Mack with persistent lies, and a seemingly apologetic facade, but he shuts her down.
His anger growing, Mack vows to see her imprisoned for assaulting Charity. As security guards approach, Mackenzie promises to kill Todd if she ever touches Charity again.
Given the fact we know Caroline Harker is leaving her role as Caitlin Todd, and that someone in the village will be attacked soon, Mack has potentially made a mistake by threatening Doctor Todd in this way.
Later in the week, trouble continues as the police arrive, keen to question Mackenzie.
