Hollyoaks confirms “cruel summer” scenes ahead for Ste Hay

"So much is going on..."

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has confirmed drama to come for his character Ste Hay amidst an exciting summer for the soap.

Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap, Kieron revealed that there’s lots to come for Ste when asked if he’d like to see his character’s on-screen best friend Sienna Blake be released from prison.

Sienna was imprisoned after her notorious villainous streak resurfaced and led her to murder Clare Devine by pushing her off a cliff, before gaslighting her girlfriend Cleo McQueen into thinking that she committed the crime.

“I’d like to see her released at some point so they can reunite, a lot has happened and she’d come back to a very different village to the one she left,” Kieron muses. “And so much is going on, it’s definitely going to be a cruel summer for Ste!”

Currently, Ste’s husband Rex Gallagher is lying to him about being attacked at the garage, making out that he was beat up for wearing women’s clothes. Rex’s crossdressing was almost a dealbreaker for the marriage, with Ste almost not going ahead with the wedding.

“Ste thinks he’s okay with Rex wearing women’s clothes but whenever they get intimate, it just doesn’t do it for him,” reveals Kieron. “He’s not the Rex that Ste fell in love with. For their relationship to move forward they must be completely honest with each other…”

Away from filming, Kieron has just launched an exciting new podcast with his co-star and good friend Anna Passey, who plays Sienna. The podcast came to fruition after the duo presented Hollyoaks Unwrapped together last year as part of the soap’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

“We’ll be catching up on what we’ve been up to, then we’ll introduce a food element to it, and get the audience involved, whether you need any advice or just want to say a little hello,” Kieron teases. ” The set is a late-night café vibe, we want you to pull up a chair and join in!”
