Stephanie Waring accidentally leaks huge Hollyoaks spoiler as three icons disappear
Brace yourselves Hollyoaks fans. A big fat juicy spoiler for Six Weeks of Summer has just dropped – courtesy of Stephanie Waring’s Tik Tok.
The actress, who plays the dynamo of Dee Valley Cindy Cunningham made a teensy boo-boo while recording a Tik Tok video, when eagle-eyed fansspotted a whopping clue concerning a major plot point.
Taking to social media to thank fans for supporting Cindy’s return to the village, Steph addressed her character’s arrest this week after being implicated in the murder of Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey).
‘As you know, if you’re watching, Cindy was arrested this week, so what do you think is she innocent or guilty?’ Steph asked her followers.
‘Cos anything can happen in Hollyoaks’.
Anything indeed. Say for instance, the missing person posters caught in the shot behind her, which showed three different characters – Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Mercedes McQueen’s (Jennifer Metcalfe)
It’s easy to imagine how Ste might go missing since he is currently mixed up with his back-from-the-dead ex James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan), who had his own reasons for wanting Rex gone. Mainly because he was his love-rival for the affections of Ste. And since Leela is Ste’s sisters, it’s not out of the realms of possibility that she would get tied up in whatever drama is coming their way.
Mercedes, however, is a little harder to place in this story. She’s recently had a lot on her plate dealing with Jenson Cole (Ryan Clayton), who turned nasty with her in his quest to the life of his brother Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) – Mercy’s baby daddy. Is this why she needs to do a runner? Assuming that going missing is voluntary of course. This is Hollyoaks after all. Kidnap happens at least three times before breakfast.
Fans had their own thoughts on Steph’s spoiler bomb. One fan commented: ‘Hahaha so now Mercedes & Leela are also gonna be missing aswell as Ste Lolz.’
Another added: ‘Ste’s disappearance literally just got leaked, before Steph posted this… Probably a coincidence, but Leela and Mercedes? What have those three got in common? Leela and Ste obviously have the James connection, but does Mercedes? I genuinely haven’t had time to catch up in a few weeks so I’m unsure’.
A third wrote: “Amazing to have you back. But I love how your show casing them posters in the background.”
While a fourth said: “See there not dropping a spoiler like that are they hahaha.’
Hollyoaks’ official TikTok page even commented, with a simple but slightly scary ‘Check your DMs please, Steph’
This led some fans to worry for the actress’s job security.

Steph Waring delighted fans by returning to Hollyoaks almost a year after the actress was – was written out as part of difficult workforce cuts.
Now Cindy Cunningham, one of the original characters of the trailblazing Channel 4 soap, is back in the village and currently locked in a feud with her long lost half-sister Beth Keane (Rebecca Ryan).
