A face from the past arrives in Coronation Street – and she’s going to die

Next week’s Coronation Street sees a relative of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) turn up at her door – but she won’t be around for long.

When Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) finds Celeste (Frances Barber) knocking on Bernie’s door, she informs her that Bernie and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) are away.

Celeste starts to head off, but when she spots Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) closing up the undertakers, she asks to arrange a funeral with him over a drink.

The next day, Celeste’s driver, Fraser, drops her at Shuttleworth’s to discuss the funeral arrangements, before heading to the Rovers.

Glenda is instantly drawn to the stranger, and invites him for a drink.

Meanwhile, Celeste tells Todd that she’s actually planning her own funeral, as she only has six weeks to live.

Together, they organise a Dolly Parton themed service, before Celeste heads off to meet Fraser.

As Fraser and Celeste depart, Glenda is thrilled when he gives her his number, and agrees to a date the following day.

However, things take an upsetting turn for Glenda after a night out on Canal Street with Todd.

As his loved ones worry about how much he’s been drinking since returning from his Thailand trip, Glenda warns him to stop treating his friends like dirt, or he’s sure to lose them.

Todd doesn’t take this well, and when Celeste later reveals to him that Fraser is gay, he is struck with a plan to get his own back on Glenda.

Will things play out the way he hopes, and how will Glenda react?
