Emmerdale fans have realised that Kev Townsend star Chris Coghill has a very famous ex.

The actor’s former romance came up as he appeared on ITV’s This Morning along with Bradley Riches, his co-star in the ITV soap.

Other guests on the programme included chef and TV star John Torode, who was doing some cooking. John is married to actress and presenter Lisa Faulkner, and some viewers realised that Lisa also used to be married to Chris.

Several posted messages on X commenting on the fact that John and Chris were on the ITV programme at the same time.

“Wasn’t he Lisa Faulkner’s first husband?” one posted on the platform as Chris joined hosts Josie Gibson and Dermot O’Leary on the sofa.

“So Lisa Faulkner has her current husband and ex husband on the show today,” someone else said on the platform, which was formerly Twitter.

Another posted: “Wow Kev Townsend and John Torode in studio at the same time #awkward.”

Another quipped: “Pretty sure that man is Lisa Faulkner’s ex husband.. John is there too today. Hopefully they get along.”

Chris and Lisa met on the set of BBC’s Burn It in 2003, and they married at Richmond Park in Surrey in 2005.

The pair adopted a daughter together in 2008 but in 2011 it was confirmed that they were going their separate ways.

Lisa went on to fall for Australian chef John – who she had met on Celebrity MasterChef – previously telling Radio Times that he penned a romantic note asking her if she would like to go out with him.

“I was surprised,” she said at the time. “I knew we’d had a couple of nice times where we met, chatted, had fun and talked a lot. So we were friends, and it didn’t come out of the blue, but I thought it was a very gentlemanly thing to do, a letter.”

The couple went on to tie the knot in a ceremony at Aynhoe Park, Oxfordshire in 2019. The pair have also worked together, fronting programmes including ITV’s John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.
