Shock truths revealed on Coronation Street as panicking Sarah confronts Jodie

Who’s your money on? (Picture: ITV)

Coronation Street’s Queen of Scheming Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) is not someone to mess with. Then again, neither is Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) – especially now she’s a murderer.

In the heavyweight battle of the Weatherfield Women, you would think that Jodie would eat Sarah for breakfast.

The bunny boiling baddie spent most of her year so far planning an  epic vengeance campaign against sister Shona (Julia Goulding) just to pay her back for walking out on her when they were kids.

When the villainous vixen’s plan to seduce Shona’s hubby David (Jack P Shepherd) ended in tears, Sarah was there for the fallout. Disgusted by Jodie’s twisted plan to lure a drunken David into bed by pretending to be Shona, Sarah well and truly agreed with her brother’s decision to sling the crazed cuckoo in the nest out on her ear.

This of course, all took place on that fateful night when Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) was murdered, which makes a lot more sense in hindsight.

Alone on the playground and feeling sorry for herself, Jodie was confronted by a mysterious figure… who we now know to be Sarah.

It turns out, Sarah had discovered Jodie’s magpie-like box of trinkets, filled with stolen keepsakes from their friends and neighbours. Freaked out by this unsettling treasure trove, Sarah wasted no time in confronted her. Jodie, scared that she would tell everyone, followed Sarah and hit her over the head so hard that it resulted in a trip to hospital.

Ironically, Jodie did Sarah a massive favour. Because on that same night, Sarah killed Theo in self defence – and being knocked unconscious by a ‘mystery attacker’ was the perfect alibi.

Little did everyone know that Gary was working behind the scenes on body disposal duty, as Sarah had already called him in a panic. Only he knows the truth, despite being a major suspect in the murder investigation himself.

The shared secret between these two exes led their partners – Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and DS Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) – into believing they were having an affair behind their backs, rumours which Jodie was only too happy to stir.

All this suspicion exploded at the world’s most tense dinner party on Monday, where viewers learned during a secret exchange between Sarah and Gary that she had killed Theo in self defence.

Given Jodie’s propensity to target members of the Platt family, Sarah’s problems would get so much worse should she ever discover the truth.

That day might just come sooner than Sarah thinks.

The newest killer on the Cobbles is in for trouble when she faces off against Jodie. But has Jodie bitten off more than she can chew?

After the emotional turmoil of the last few days, Sarah is drowning her sorrows in the Rovers while Nick (Ben Price) and David are concerned to see her so drunk. If only they knew…

However, Jodie puts Sarah’s troubles down to the fact she was attacked, But when she lets slip that David the dog was barking at the time of the incident, Sarah’s left suspicious…

Later, those suspicions are festering as Sarah corners Jodieto get some answers about the night of her attack. But they’re interrupted by DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vick Myers), who wants to go over some details about the night of Theo’s murder with Sarah. Uh-oh…

Jodie invites them in, and Sarah goes through the details of her attack again, adamant that it took place at 9.10pm and David the dog was barking his head off. Does Jodie know more than she’s letting on?

Jodie points out to Sarah that her timings don’t stack up and maybe she was with Gary. But then Sarah turns the tables on Jodie quizzes her about the trinket box.

Jodie’s thrown. Is she going to regret taking on Sarah?
