Hollyoaks star puts rumours to bed amid claims she has quit
Hollyoaks star Dawn Hope has responded to the rumours she has quit the Channel 4 soap.
Dawn, who is 66, joined the cast as Pearl Anderson in 2021.
The star has appeared in a number of hugely popular TV and theatre shows, including the National Theatre production of Follies, and a stage production of Little Shop of Horrors.
She played Jenny in popular British sitcom Waiting For God, which ran for five series between 1990 and 1994.
Soap fans will likely remember Dawn as Alison Soames in Coronation Street, the mother of abuser Kirsty.
A few years ago in Hollyoaks, Pearl faced romance drama with partner Jack Osborne. She decided to end the relationship after Jack’s granddaughter Frankie accused him of touching her inappropriately.
Months later, the duo reconciled after it was proved that Jack was falsely accused. Pearl began supporting Zoe after learning that she was pregnant, and was also there for Frankie when the abuse she suffered at the hands of her brother was exposed.

Once Zoe and Sharon left the village, Pearl moved in with Jack. She has become hugely loved by the Hollyoaks fanbase, so it obviously came as a shock to them when false news began circulating that Dawn Hope had departed.
In order to clear things up, Dawn took to her Instagram page this week to address the rumours.
In her video, she confirmed that she definitely isn’t leaving the show.
The star said: ‘I love Hollyoaks. I’m hanging out with them, I’m looking forward to hanging out with them for longer.
‘Just because actors do workshops and…I’ve just done an audition at The Lyric today, love getting into a room without doing the self tape. It’s great exercising your tool and just stretching and working on different projects. A workshop is not an exit from a contract you’ve already got.

Dawn concluded: ‘Hollyoaks is one of the best families I’ve ever worked with in the industry, and I’m going to hang out with them.’
There have been a lot of cast changes at Hollyoaks in recent years. Last month, we shared the news that actress Steph Waring is returning to the show as Cindy Cunningham.
Ahead of the soap’s dramatic summer, Metro took a trip to the Hollyoaks set to chat with the cast.
We got storyline gossip from stars including Rebecca Ryan, Leo Cole and Jamie Lomas, who all confirmed that we’re in for quite the chaotic few weeks.
